Community + Donations

Committed to the communities we serve.

People helping people. That’s what a credit union, and in particular Navigant Credit Union, is all about. We are committed to the financial well-being of the families, businesses, and communities we serve, and have been since our founding in 1915. That’s why we donate over $900,000 each year to worthwhile causes and organizations throughout Rhode Island.

Emerging Markets

Since our founding in 1915, Navigant Credit Union has been working to give people an alternative to the traditional banking model. We help individuals and small businesses that need some support in order to achieve their own personal American dream. Everyone needs a financial partner they can trust, whether that is for saving their hard-earned assets, or borrowing money for those times when savings just isn’t enough.

Scholarships

Over the past 20 years, Navigant Credit Union has awarded more than $250,000 to area high school students to help them in their pursuit of a college or technical degree. We understand how important it is to make higher education affordable for students. The Navigant Credit Union Scholarship is one small way we help our members to enjoy life’s journey.

Financial Literacy

With a focus on providing financial education to learners of all ages, Navigant Credit Union has partnered with the General Treasurer’s office to provide EverFi™ – Financial Literacy programs, an engaging, online resource that uses video, animations, and interactive activities to bring complex financial concepts to life.

Own Your Community.

We’ve been a proud supporter of the RI Food Bank’s Kid’s Café for years and wanted to highlight their great work in our latest TV commercial. The spot was filmed at the RI Food Bank and shows the prep work behind the Kid’s Café program.

Kids Café partners with select afterschool programs across the state to serve healthy evening meals to children at risk of hunger. Food Bank chefs and nutrition experts prepare and deliver approximately 400 healthy meals daily, at no cost to the families they serve.

VForce

VForce is our staff volunteer program. If VForce sounds like a group of superheroes, well, we like to think it is. Developed by Navigant’s leadership team, the VForce program encourages all employees to volunteer 8 hours each year during their regular working hours, and of course, receive their regular pay for that time. Our employees engage in their communities in a multitude of ways – from serving on boards or committees to coaching a youth sports team to stocking shelves at the Food Bank.

Navigant Credit Union Charitable Foundation

Imagine the difference all of us could make.

What is the Navigant Credit Union Charitable Foundation?

Throughout the years, Navigant Credit Union has contributed to over 600 diverse organizations, injecting over $3.5 million into the local community. In 2019, we founded the Navigant Credit Union Charitable Foundation, an autonomous 501(c)3 charity, to enable even more substantial and influential contributions to these worthy causes. This becomes achievable through the generous contributions from members like yourself.
