Health Insurance

Comprehensive medical plans are available to employees and their families through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Rhode Island.  The Credit Union currently provides single and family medical coverage in the form of Vantage Blue PPO, Blue Solutions HDHP with an HSA or BlueChip HMO to employees.  Eligibility for health insurance is the first of the month following date of hire.

Employees who are eligible for health insurance coverage under a spouse or parent’s medical insurance plan are eligible to receive payments in lieu of benefits from Navigant Credit Union.  Taxable payments are included in the employee’s weekly pay checks.

Dental Insurance

A comprehensive Dental plan is also provided to employees through Delta Dental of Rhode Island.  The Credit Union currently provides single and family coverage to employees at no cost on the first of the month following date of hire.

Employees who are eligible for dental insurance coverage under a spouse or parent’s plan are eligible to receive payments in lieu of benefits from Navigant Credit Union.

Vision Insurance

A comprehensive Vision plan is also provided to employees through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Rhode Island’s EyeMed Access Network.

Retirement Programs

To supplement an employee’s Social Security benefit and personal savings, the Credit Union has established a Traditional 401(k) Plan and Roth 401(k) plan for employees.  Employees that wish to participate in these plans may contribute a portion of their salary on either a pre-tax or post-tax basis and have those contributions matched $1 for $1 up to 5% by the Credit Union, subject to the Plan’s vesting schedule.  In addition to the generous employer match, the Credit Union also provides participants with a 3% Safe Harbor contribution that is 100% immediately vested.  Eligible employees are automatically enrolled the first of the month after 3 months of employment unless opting out of the program.

Vacations, Holidays and Sick Time

The Credit Union recognizes that all employees need time away from their daily jobs for relaxation and family time.  Accordingly, the credit union offers paid vacations, holidays, and sick days to all eligible employees.

  • Educational Assistance.  After one-year of employment.  Undergraduate and graduate level college courses are eligible if the courses meet the requirements of the Qualified Educational Assistance Plan.
  • After 6 months of service, Credit Union employees shall be eligible for residential mortgage loans from the Credit Union based on the creditworthiness of their application.  As a benefit of their employment with the Credit Union, employees shall be entitled to receive an interest rate equal to the Credit Union’s posted two-point mortgage rate without paying the two-point fee when financing the purchase of their primary residence.  Employees with the title of President, Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President or Vice President shall not be eligible for this interest rate benefit.  Should an employee that took advantage of the interest rate benefit leave employment with the Credit Union, the interest rate on the former employee’s mortgage loan shall adjust to the zero-point interest rate in effect at the time of the original loan closing.
  • Community Service Involvement – Navigant Credit Union encourages its employees to be good corporate citizens.  In that regard, employees are entitled to one paid community service day subject to company approval.
  • On-site Fitness Facility – Navigant Credit Union makes available to all employees’ use of its on-site fitness center free of charge.  A waiver of liability form is required prior to using the facility.
  • NCU Wealth Management
  • Cash Reserve Line of Credit offers the flexibility to meet your financial needs.  The low annual fee of $15 is waived for employees.
