"Amanda from Navigant Credit Union was great with my fifth grade class! Students learned about budgeting, spending versus saving, and needs versus wants. Their conversations were priceless! It was interesting to see how different groups tackled their budget. Some had a higher salary yet wanted to live in a studio apartment simply to save more, whereas others faced the real-word dilemma of 'what do you do when you can't make ends meet?' Through this simulation, students grew a new-found appreciation for the choices their parents make each day! It was a great experience and I'm looking forward to having Amanda come back and do this again with next year's fifth graders!"

As part of this program, we have a dedicated economics block as part of our curriculum. Once per month, Amanda LaRose of Navigant Credit Union comes in to teach our students about types of accounts, budgeting, saving, credit and more! Our partnership with Navigant Credit Union has been instrumental in bringing economics to life for our students.
