Comprehensive medical plans are available to employees and their families through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Rhode Island. The Credit Union currently provides single and family medical coverage in the form of Vantage Blue PPO, Blue Solutions HDHP with an HSA or BlueChip HMO to employees. Eligibility for health insurance is the first of the month following date of hire.
Employees who are eligible for health insurance coverage under a spouse or parent’s medical insurance plan are eligible to receive payments in lieu of benefits from Navigant Credit Union. Taxable payments are included in the employee’s weekly pay checks.
A comprehensive Dental plan is also provided to employees through Delta Dental of Rhode Island. The Credit Union currently provides single and family coverage to employees at no cost on the first of the month following date of hire.
Employees who are eligible for dental insurance coverage under a spouse or parent’s plan are eligible to receive payments in lieu of benefits from Navigant Credit Union.
To supplement an employee’s Social Security benefit and personal savings, the Credit Union has established a Traditional 401(k) Plan and Roth 401(k) plan for employees. Employees that wish to participate in these plans may contribute a portion of their salary on either a pre-tax or post-tax basis and have those contributions matched $1 for $1 up to 5% by the Credit Union, subject to the Plan’s vesting schedule. In addition to the generous employer match, the Credit Union also provides participants with a 3% Safe Harbor contribution that is 100% immediately vested. Eligible employees are automatically enrolled the first of the month after 3 months of employment unless opting out of the program.
